just saw beautiful bright red dragonfly on remnant of old archway in the backyard. don’t remember ever seeing one like that here. a small gem – a flying treasure for you to enjoy.

can see [my antique rose bush] Old Blush blazing like a chandelier as you write. have bouquet of it & Souvenirs [de Malmaison, another antique rose] on bedside table with more ready to be picked. liberation from worries at your fingertips. spirit lifters you’ve nurtured, returning the favor tenfold.

writing about San Antonio’s Landa Library & McNay Art Museum in the late 1960s: so many hours spent exploring their nooks & crannies. given free rein in both places. art, books & architecture a splendid backdrop. blessed to have so much freedom. almost unbelievable now.

‘super moon’ was absolutely lovely: caught breath when you first saw it. thought about the moon shining serenely despite much suffering on earth. have seen a few slightly odd ‘faces’ there over the years but never sad ones. wonder if others see face at all but feel almost privileged that you do. a true celestial gift.

gratitude is angel cue & good to keep in mind & heart. picked 3 lovely bouquets in the yard, the latest of many. list the flowers.

always unpleasantly surprised at the ignorance about trees. noble creatures badly served, especially by anyone with a chainsaw. couldn’t believe he cut most of his mountain laurel sapling because it bent in the wind!
