dogs are always good role models in basic ways. Dottie wants a comfortable amount of exercise mornings & evenings, breakfast, & dinner with a small afternoon snack & maybe an excursion to the mailbox. otherwise, she’s sleeping. works for her!

Dominant Hand: Such sad, strange times. Joys seems increasingly elusive.

Alternate Hand: but it never disappears. can be a matter of attitude but sometimes it just blazes or pops up, like seeing the 1st hyacinth bean bloom or Dottie catching her ball in midair or baby Charlie blowing kisses. moments of delight among all this sadness are especially sweet, gifts to be cherished.

Dominant Hand [after writing about my resentment & hurt feelings]:  Just took a break & watered the back yard. The ‘cemetery’ rose is starting to bloom. Thank God for dogs & flowers.

Alternate Hand: so hard to be objective when living in solitude. have often said dogs don’t give much feedback. part of their charm!

[writing during gloomy weather] good day to stay inside & take it easy. just heard thunder, which poor Dot hates. but does ok under a blanket, especially if you’re near her. may be time for watching old dvds. got medicine & food restocked yesterday. reward yourself by relaxing & coddling Dottie.
