watching [a child I mentor’s] interest in an Erik Blegvad book from the ‘80s was lovely. as was her preferring reading to playing cards or games.  truly hope you can instill the gift of loving to read in her. an accomplishment to be proud of.

wallowing in unhappiness can bring some sense of relief, sort of like a tantrum. doesn’t resolve anything, though, unless you use it as an impetus to movement toward resolution

it’s always fortifying to do things that bring satisfaction & personal accomplishment. including having the $$ to pay to get things done: certainly an accomplishment after years of poverty.

not a thing wrong with courage, dear one. but there’s nothing wrong with calculated retreat, either, when it’s to your advantage. doesn’t have to be literal: turning attention elsewhere works, too.
